Tony and Catherine Deasy would like to welcome you to Jason’s Cottage a Self
Catering Holiday Home situated between Skibbereen & Schull. We wish to
give you the opportunity to enjoy holidays similar to the wonderful experiences
we have shared here on many occasions with family and friends.
Having emigrated from Ireland with my family at an early age it was hard to
believe I would get the chance to come back and eventually build a holiday home
here in West Cork in the place my Father and Grandparents came from and where I
spent so many childhood holidays with my brother and sisters.
Here you will find yourself in the very heart of West Cork where you will
benefit from true Irish Hospitality at its best from the local people.
Experience for yourself our house which has been built in the traditional local
style sympathetic with its surrounding yet providing all the comforts and modern
conveniences. Looking out on the sea with the West Cork coastline on all sides
peppered with islands and secluded bays you will look at the beacon in Baltimore
by day gaze at the light from the Fastnet by night. The un-spoilt beauty and
tranquil setting is conducive to relaxation and creativity, it is no wonder then
that so many artists, musicians and writers (and the odd celebrity) choose make
it their home.
We are fortunate indeed to be conveniently situated for the perfect retreat
or ideal touring base. The amenities in the area are very diverse and cater for
all tastes wherever your interests lie. Among other things you can take pleasure
in Fishing, Sailing, Walking, Cycling and of course Golf. Regular ferries
operate from just down the road at Turk Head to Hare and Sherkin Islands or if
you wish you can go further afield to Cape Clear from Schull or Baltimore.
Brochures maps and guides are available from Skibbereen Tourist Office so that
you can really make the most of your stay, which can be as relaxing or active as
you choose.
Nearby is the bustling country town of
Skibbereen and there is easy access to
West Cork’s most popular tourist towns
Ballydehob,
Schull,
Baltimore
and Bantry with all their history and culture. Food and music is plentiful with something
for all tastes. The local pub culture is strong and you will find pub-grub
excellent all over.
